City of La Marque Becomes Title Sponsor of Magical Winter Lights

HOUSTON – November 3, 2016 – People Generation, Inc., producing company of Magical Winter Lights, announced today that the City of La Marque has become the title sponsor of the second annual lantern festival and holiday celebration, which will be held at Gulf Greyhound Park from November 18, 2016 to January 8, 2017.

The 2016 Magical Winter Lights marks the second year of the largest lantern festival of its kind in the U.S., as well as the largest holiday event taking place in the Greater Houston area. Taking place at Gulf Greyhound Park in La Marque, the event will feature more than 60 percent of new lantern exhibitions, a full carnival rides and games area, a brand-new food court and nightly acrobatic performances.

The city has committed a $50,000 grant to Magical Winter Lights, a contribution to provide more flexibility to Magical Winter Lights’ overall marketing spending. In return, People Generation, a special event promotion Crystal Award winner by the American Marketing Association, will execute a series of marketing and branding campaigns to create name recognition and brand awareness for the City of La Marque to all visitors who will come through the door of the 2016 Magical Winter Lights.

“We are proud to host this world-class event in the City of La Marque and look forward to Magical Winter Lights becoming an annual event at Gulf Greyhound Park,” said Alex Getty, executive director of the La Marque Economic Development Corporation, which contributed a portion of the $50,000 grant on behalf of the City of La Marque to Magical Winter Lights. The organization is an initiative to foster business development and economic opportunity in the City of La Marque.


The City of La Marque joins sponsor, Life Storage, in the MWL 2016 partnerships.
